OUR LAST WEEK OF DISTANCE LEARNING FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR! I AM FILLED WITH MIXED EMOTIONS! WHAT A YEAR WE HAVE HAD! At the end of this week I am going to give you some suggestions for the summer. I AM GOING TO MISS ALL OF YOU!
Complete your assignments this week to get as many entries as you can into our gift card give away. THE LAST DRAWING IS AT THE END OF THIS WEEK!
Expectations: Learning From Home The following are tips to help you make the most out of our Distance Learning. 1. Try to make a scheduled time for your child to do classwork. 2. Try to make it during what would be their regular school hours. 3. Make sure to spend time in Reading/Math/Writing each day. If need be, take breaks in between. 4. For optimal growth, students should be spending no less than an hour in each subject each day. 5. All student learning does not have to take place online. We sent home Reading, Math, and Writing workbooks. You may choose to work from both resources (workbooks and online learning). When working in the workbooks, encourage your child to complete skills that they are familiar with.
ELA and Math Requirements
For this week (May 18-22, 2020) each student should complete the following activities: Please make i-Ready Reading and i-Ready Math a priority. Start your reading and math lessons with these. Then add Accelerated Reader (AR), Raz Kids, Scholastic, and Spelling City for extra reading practice. Use Prodigy and Xtra Math for math practice.
i-Ready Reading
IDR (Independent Daily Reading) time 20 minutes a day. Read for at least 20 minutes daily and log on form below at the end of the week. These books can be used for your Accelerated Reader tests.
Accelerated Reader - Read and test on 3 Books or Articles per week. You may use the books you read during IDR time to test on for AR. You can listen to books on Epic and test on those.
